How can you run an all-volunteer charity — pay no salaries or compensation — and still get the work done?
By getting dedicated full-time volunteers — and part-ime volunteers who love their work so much they come back again — and again. One has been back 6 times!
Meet our full-time volunteers who live out among the people they serve.
Maribel Bass — wife of Joe Bass and co-founder of Operation Safe Drinking Water.

MARIBEL BASS is seen by indigenous people as"one of our family." She's there when needed, runs a feeding program, gives first-aid, and implements a school scholarship program. She's the first one the poorest indigenous families turn to when no one else has time for them. She always makes time.
Her heartfelt empathy and caring has won their trust and confidence.

JOE BASS, left, co-founder with Maribel, is everywhere, doing everything, from raising funds to install more tanks to driving our ambulance boat -- sometimes in stormy weather at night. Joe traded his golf shoes for muddy boots to help provide safe, disease-free water for indigenous schools and villages.
A volunteer for one week becomes a full-time volunteer

KEN EIDE, left, is "Mr. Can-Do" for OSDW. He works hand-in-hand with our head installer (right) to install rain-catchment systems for indigenous schools and villages. He perfected a system that lets OSDW install two rain catchment systems in one day -- a big benefit when we have to go a long way to schools on distant islands.

Joe says, ” we give our time before asking you to give your help. We’re asking now. Thank you.”
OSDW is 501 (c) (3) charity. We’re all volunteers. No one receives a salary or compensation.
