Operation Safe Drinking Water is an all-volunteer 501(c) (3) charity. No one receives a a salary or compensation. We live among the people we serve.
Would you drink this water?
Yes, you would, if it’s all you had.
A Salute to Our Volunteers
Ken Eide, Operations Manager
A short-term volunteer who came back to stay. Though retired Ken is a man who makes things happen.
Which indigenous schools need safe water the most? Ask Ken.
How do we install 9 rain catchment systems in 5 days, while at the same time transporting 2 medical and dental teams to their clinics? Ask Ken.
Ken does all the detail work that’s given OSDW its well-earned “can-do” reputation.
Maribel Gomez, Latin American Director

Maribel Gomez Bass guides projects on the field. She knows the people by name and speaks their language. She takes time to know and care about their needs. In turn, indigenous communities know and trust her.
She is shown here with one of her “scholarship kids” — indigenous kids who receive scholarships for school.
Joe Bass, President

Joe retired after many years of aid work in Africa and elsewhere, but traded his golf shoes for muddy boots to co-found OSDW along with his wife, Maribel, when they saw how polluted water was destroying the health and lives of indigenous children.
Joe asked at the time, “why should children suffer or die from bad water where it rains so much?”
How about you, your group, or your friends?
No, we can’t save everyone…
But that’s no excuse for not saving those we can.
You can save Lucas, Sarah, Rachel and Carey
They live in the same village.
What else do they have in common?
They’ll each have years of safe drinking water from the tank
you provide by using the donate button below.
Make them your kids by providing a safe drinking water tank for their village.
